MCE is just Windows XP Pro. Nothing taken out, just with an application extra which is similer to Meedio or any other "media center" apps. I'm using it right now on my HTPC plugged into my 32" LCD. The application itself is pretty cool, but not a million miles away from other competitors applications such as Meedio.
