Intel seem to have given up on the value market, they don't seem to want to (or aren't able to) compete in the enthusiasts segment of the market. I'm not suprised they've limited overclocking, just how much margin do you think there is on that inefficient furnace of a chip?! All that's left is the 64 bit market...oh wait... ;-p Unfortunately, this means that AMD can charge what they like...500 quid for a 3800?!? Bastards! W.

500 quid for a 3800+ isn't that bad. I wouldn't ever pay it myself, but Intel's current best is the 3.6GHz and that's available to pre-order for £450. That's the price to pay if you want to go the high-end; factor in that Socket 939 is a new technology at the moment and it's almost fair enough that the processors are expensive. Those who aren't willing to fork out £500 for a processor (myself included) will just have to wait until the sensible options turn up.
