Half-life2 is going to be the game of the year, and I think I'm gonna get me a shiny-new ATI to run it on and get these nVidia cards out of me rigs just on general principles. Oh, I am REALLY hoping that this game buries even the memory of Doom3 before it comes out....I'm still pissed at Johnny-boy's blatant favoritism.

...your GF4 ti4600 will do a bang-up job on Half-life2, I doubt it'll even make a nice slideshow out of D3. :( I'm REALLY hoping for D3 to crash & burn now...I can't believe how stupidly naive I've been about it! John, you went and REALLY pissed me off good. :(

this game remonds me of a cross between "doctor who and the daleks" and war of the worlds" which is ace. I hope it runs ok on a 9700pro

Half-Life 2 should run exceptionaly well. If you read the previews 2 or so weeks ago, they mention that Valve is AIMING at making the game playable on sub-par 700-800MHz systems, coupled with an equavalent GeForce 256. I think. That makes perfect sense. This will be OFFICIALY the second game that Valve has made. I mean a BRAND NEW GAME. They will like to reap in LOTS AND LOTS of revenue on it. Considering that Counter-Strike is still the number one online game, this means that there are MANY people out there with crappy computers playing it. Valve can only WIN by making Half-Life 2 playable on such sub-par cumputer specs. Which makes me very happy, since my PC is so-so (Athie 1.3GHz | GF3 Vanilla). :)
