Just letting you all know. I (used to) write for a site that hasn't really been really updated in a while (www.nextdimensionhw.com), but anyway... Back when it was, I went to the NY Jacob Javits computer show and we spoke to a hard drive restoring company (a newly founded one) representative and he was really pissed off. We asked him what was wrong and he said how Tom (if that was his name, this was years ago, so I don't fully remember really) threatened him for their products for a story, or else he would "make his whole company's credibility suffer and put him so far into the ground that they'll never be able to survive". Well to make a long story short, the representative told Tom to "f-k himself". Since then, all the things I had heard, which I thought were rumors, about Tom's hardware, finally started making sense. That site is a waste. I agree with you all.

Toms Hardware used to be my favourite tech site in its early days. Now they tell untruths and the reviews have errors and inconsistencies. They also show extreme bias at times and definite bias a lot of the time. Something worth knowing: I use Protowall (and Blocklist manager to update it). Protowall uses a list of IP's which it blocks access to. The idea being, if a site is bad, its IP is added to one of the many databases of bad places. The places range from those annoying adverts to hijacks and virii. As such, Protowall is now permanently in use. The Blocklist Manager which updates the blocked IP list can be configured by yourself and it is possible to make a mess of what sites you block, so be careful. My point is: Connecting to this site (W2S) awaits a few responses from certain adservers. This takes 1/2 a minute or so, then you get access to W2S. (This is nothing to do with being hijacked, I am truly clean. It is what W2S themselves do) You will NEVER get to Tomshardware if you are running Protowall correctly. It spends a long time trying to connect to its own adservers which are banned. If it cannot connect to its own adservers, you never get to see TomsHardwares site. IE reports : We can't find "www.tomshardware.com" So Tomshardware make you remove some of your security if you wish to go there. I never go there now! I DO NOT trust them anyway, so they are of no value to me.
