Havn't tried these, but rumour has it that Splinter Cell CT is now broken with SM3.0. Nice one NVidia, new game is coming so lets create a new bug for something that was working ok, as we did wih Far Cry/HL2 etc. typical. And the temps are still high. Why bother, stick to 67.02/03 works fine with all.

I tried this driver, but it has a dramaticly frame drop HL2 has stuttering, also Doom 3.

Just remember that these are beta drivers and bugs will exist.

Leaked/BETA or whatever, it's developed by nVidia, unless it is a hacked version (unlikely). Now my point is this - I simply fail to understand why with every (too frequent) release of a driver (beta or otherwise), they continue to break things that where previously working, where else would you see this situation in software development?. With nVidia it always seems to be 10 steps forward, 9 back. What are they up to? You want an example - Piss water in HL2 !! It probably went that colour with every jerk wetting themselves over yet another leaked driver release!

Well ok, but I don't know why they would want to re-write parts of the code from scratch, rather than just optimise what they have. I would like to think of the drivers evolving to match the product line. However if you apply NVidia's process of evolution to human life we would all be feeling the urge to climb back up into the trees and eat lots of yellow fruit.

Although I have no experience in driver development, I have some in general software development... The code they most likely optimize in would be probably Assembly code.. Writing pages of assembly code is no easy feat to achieve accurately. (much like me and spelling correctly lol) Even with that noted, its important to know that Nvidia compiles and tests new builds every day. Of course not all drivers get leaked, but the ones they do are NOT intended to be used by us, the end user. They are there for internal staff and partners to test and give feedback on.
