Doom III An Xbox Exclusive?

So was RtCW (available for X-box) and Quake 3 Arena which has been ported (to PS/2 I think). This should tell you that it is worth it to port a game and what form it was originally coded in becomes moot. If any of the current generation of consoles can do Doom 3 any justice it is X-Box. For ID the concern is preserving their reputation of high quality. This means that the hardware must do it justice. If they think the X-box can and others cannot then it is likely they will go for an exclusive. If they find that other consoles can do it justice they may prefer that option. New consoles may be on the slate and this may figure into the equation. If anything, the X-box should be the optimal current platform for Doom 3 as it was specifically designed with Nvidia hardware in mind. That is not to say you need an Nvidia card to run it on a PC, but that the Doom 3 engine was designed around Geforce-256 and expected to work well on Geforce 3 and up.

Read Carmack's latest .plan update. He optimize DOOM3 for GL_ARB_FRAGMENT_PROGRAM capable GPUs (R300/NV30). XBOX is based on NV25 chip. Nuff said.

show me some proof. I highly doubt it would get anywhere near that score. p3s with gf3 score pretty low not overclocked.. and is it even possible with 64mb ram?

Xbox Exclusive means that the Xbox is the only CONSOLE on which the game will be brought out! It has nothing to do with the PC version. It's like GTA3 being a PS2 exclusive. So don't worry about the PC version.
