! OMG I dunno why ppl. find HDR to be such a great thing its a feature to make averything look totally unrealistic or where do you see glowing STONE WALLS !?

HDR is not realistic per say... the way they use it in for example DoD is meant to simulate your eyes adapting to various light levels. That said I find it annoying for the most part. Since you sometimes will not see people standing in dark areas I can't see people that take gaming "serisouly" using it. Not when you can disable it and get an advantage.

yeah totally agree.. If someones sitting in the shadows its impossible to spot them, but they can clearly see out.

Developers tend to jump on features like this which improve graphical realism (Or umm, in theory anyway). But, that's why they are *games*, they're not meant to be "real". Just because it looks realistic does not mean it should be a feature. It's like in Doom 3 the way they mess up your POV when attacked. Sure, something similar might occur when being smacked around, but does that make the game anymore fun? No. They need to be picky when applying anything like this. San Andreas had nice subtle use of blurring when driving fast - it didn't detract from the gameplay. They didn't apply anything like that for being shot though.
