This is the third beta release for Dets. with no Windows ME,9x support. I will not be strong armed into upgrading to XP. This is not fair. I have a G2U, which I plan to upgrade in the spring and with these tactics, I may go with ATI. Joe G.

Joe G. Accept the facts and try to live with it that Win9X and ME are HISTORY. Microsoft along with most other hardware vendors will be phasing out support for those platforms. And believe me.. you do not want to switch over to ATI.. their driver support is FAR WORSE than NVIDIA's, and NVIDIA's hardware support isn't even that bad. Stebet

Maybe you cant get any more performance out of winME/9X. They are pretty limited O/S's. You should think about upgrading out. XP is solid compared to 9x. It took 3 weeks for my system to crash under xp.

I'd remind you, Joe, that these are beta drivers and there is nothing to indicate that you personally are being "strong-armed" into upgrading to XP. How you can even infer such a thing from an unofficial release is beyond me. GF2 owner or not, you are most certainly not the center of nVidia's universe. It would come as a great surprise to me if nVidia doesn't include Win9x support in their next officially sanctioned release. That being said, this year Microsoft plans to stop supporting Win98, so I'd think hard about upgrading. One can't expect a company like nVidia to support Win98 ad infinitum. That would be akin to complaining about the lack of Windows 3.1 support.

Well I am using WinMe at the moment, and plan on upgrading to WinXP soon enough, but I'd like to have some betas to play with NOW. So I feel your pain man. That is pretty funked up. me came out longer than a year ago dumass and the reason there 2k/xp first is cause those os have a higher fault tolerance......get it??so people like me with xp beta test this shit for you......show some appreciation biotch!! love, bill gates son

3dmark 2001- Nature test 27.10 drivers ave about 30 fps 27.20 drivers ave about 15 fps.. and i can only update to 27.20 drivers, can't install on it's own.

If you'd know anything you'd now by now that it is Microsofts intention to phase out all Win9x versions (that includes WinME which is nothing more than an upgrade to Win98SE and a bad upgrade since Win98SE is much more stable, everyone should know that, so i wonder who's the retard here) as well as NT 4.0 Just my 2 cents once again. To all: Once again, I sincerely appreciate all of your feed back to my original comments. To those for and against, thanks. I have to admit, even some of what you guys wrote was pretty funny, whether it was for or against. I think we have learned one thing today. With the vast range of opinions I saw in just the 18 comments posted, we can be sure the hardware and software manufacturers will have to remain on their toes.
