well, i think its being made alongside the xbox, do you believe that the software company producing the game for the xbox is going to ignore the pc version completely. Plus its an nvidia sponsored game, and of course the xbox is nvidia grafix. Im sure that even though the pc version is out they would have to consider the huge market the game will have on the xbox, and develop the engine with those considerations for other platforms.

the system im running doom 3 is this:sk8v, fx-51, 1024mb reg ddr, 9800xt, on 22"iiyama vision master pro. Ok its not the ultimate gaming system right now, but it sure aint no slouch. Plus if YOU think doom3 is the best grafix then you must be on crack. As for fanboy nonsense, i dont care, ill use any hardware software as long as it is good, Im toying with getting a 6800 if it turns out to be a better all round card for gaming, but at the moment it seems to be just the doom 3 card, and x800xt's are impossible to get where i am. Well lets just wait and see what it looks like on the xbox.

if you get really close to objects in this game, you get a real close up detail texture, or maybe you have onboard grafix or something. YOU must be the dumb one, check the screen shots of the game close up(doom3) there aint no detail, unless its my card or drivers(9800xt, omega 4.8's)

looking at a game, you tend to notice these things after a while of playing. I expect the absolute best and future of 3d engines from ID, dunno bout you.

Dude, youre making fun of yourself. id never claimed to make the ultra uber engine that eleminates blurry textures when you are close to them and all other problems with 3D graphics (NONE GAME HAS YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) MY GOD FFS where did you break out from? Where did you hear Doom 3 would be the "bestest-of-the-best-and-will-make-the-world-a-better-place"? Youre fooling yourself around and blame other because they didnt do what you wanted it to be? But keep going I and my friends are still having a blast.

ok "dude" ill carry on. Look at the games id have done over the years. Usually groundbreaking stuff, or at least high quality, smooth engines that others use and copy. Doom 3 just aint as good as it should have been, they are slacking. I never said for one moment that id "claimed" to have a shit hot game, i just expected it, you know THE company that broke new ground in the early years and then on time after time with classics, untill this. From your post it seems you expect mediocre games from them. I agree there hasnt been as much build up as usual for a game from id but i was expecting better than that. is that enough for ya. You have to admit, it seems the game isnt quite finished.

Strange, I always thought they said their shadows were amazing. I thought all shadows are... shadows. But then again, the "shadows" from static objects aren't shadows at all, so iD saved their face there! Wohoo. As for the textures, they look pathetic that close, but they are also blurred when looking at them from a distance, which is outrageous in a modern game, especially considering D3 is the most needy game ever when it comes to texture memory. Also, I missed one thing.. Bulletmarks! They must be a direct copy of the Q3 source. Not only do they leave nothing but black dots, they also vanish without a trace while looking at them. And since you speak so much of intelligence and stupidity, why the hell would I start talking about other games when Doom3 is the subject? Hello? Collect your braincells and try to live up to your own expectations.
