Nvidia went 32 bit color, 3dfx *told* us we didn't want that.... And 3dfx stayed 16 bit Them telling us we didn't want that pissed a LOT of people off even though there weren't any games at the time that you could really tell the difference between 16 and 32. By the time there were true 32 bit color games, none of that generation cards could run them worth a shit anyway. Thing is my old voodoo3 3K had better 2d and overlay image quality than any of my nvidia cards. And since there weren't any true 32 bit color games it lookd better than the nvidia cards running at 16 bit. I miss 3dfx I wish they haddn't blown it

Yea there was, about a 50% (or greater) loss of frame rates on most hardware available. But unless you were taking screen shots and looking at them later or slowly walking around the difference wasn't noticable. During normal gameplay, it wasn't noticeable. And I heard the same from everyone.

Clever and probably true. Then Futuremark has to realize the truth again and post that they are optimisations

löl :) This is just for freaks ... why tweak a card to its max when you can get a cheap one wich does this just in normal operation .... And I do not want to have 4 extra fans in my PC the one is fully enough ...
