Rage3D have released a new version of their tweak tool v2.8 Beta 3

Just found this new build of Entechtaiwan's utility PowerStrip. PowerStrip? PowerStrip 3.0 provides advanced, multi-monitor, programmable hardware support to a wide range of graphics cards - from the venerable Matrox Millennium I to the latest Radeon2 and GeForce3. It's the only program of its type to support multiple graphics cards from multiple chipset vendors, simultaneously, under every Windows operating system from Windows 95 to XP. No news on fixes or improvements yet but you can download it from us here.

NeoWin have a new tool for u guy's. Stardock has stated that once most users have XP with proper video drivers, whole new categories of software can be created that can do visual things not seen before.

Stardock has released a free program that tests to see if your video card and drivers support the new Windows XP APIs for alpha blending acceleration along with general performance tests. The goal behind XPBench is to get video card makers to update their drivers to take advantage of these things.

Many of the alpha blending effects in Windows XP benefit from driver support for layered windows. Some drivers include support for layering and others do not. A card that is fast at 3D games that doesn't support these APIs will be significantly slower in 2D.

New release, bugfixes mostly: 1) A whole lot of fixes.
2) A new slider at the top of the "Profiles" Section called "Default Profile". This slider lets you select what the default profile will be, and if set to Disabled.., well disables the auto-profile support (i'll explain more below).
3) The Custom Display Modes tab has recieved a number of updates. Includes a broader range of refresh rates supported, and in Win9x reads the refresh ranges from the modes registry key. Fixed some other bugs in the way it worked in beta1, including one that would give u an error if you opened it a few times in a row.
4) As before, if you have a reg tweak with a Red Box around it, that means the tweak is not in the registry. Now all setings that you have changed (either check or slider) will get a Green Box around them until you hit apply... so you can track which settings will be changed when you hit the apply button. That should clear up a bit of the confusion.
5) Everything has been tested to work in WinXP, as well as Win2k and Win9x/ME. Download now

CDCheck is a Freeware application that checks your CD-ROM (or some other media) and tells you which files are corrupted. It can also do a binary compare with copy on disk. It is especially useful for testing old CDs or just burned CDs to see if they are OK. If some files are corrupted that means it would be wise to move your data to some other media or copy it on another CD.
