PowerColor Evil Commando 2 Gold Radeon 9700

Published by Newsfactory 0

Just got word from Dave @ Beyond3D that they have had the opportunity to review numerous incarnations of ATI?s latest 3D chip. However, one remained un-reviewed, until now. Courtesy of PowerColor, they're looking at their ?Evil Commando 2 Gold? Radeon 9700 128MB card.

Those who are not familiar with the Radeon 9700 will want to know that this board variant remains exactly the same as Radeon 9700 PRO in all respects other than the clock speeds of the core and memory. This means that all 8 pixel pipelines available from R300 are there, as is the full 256-bit memory bus. All that's different is that where Radeon 9700 PRO has core/memory speeds of 325/610MHz, Radeon 9700 weighs in at 275/540MHz. This still equates to a theoretical pixel rate of 2.2G pixels/s and a physical bandwidth of just over 17 GB/s. We'll compare the performance of this board with two of its siblings, the higher powered Radeon 9700 PRO and the lower bandwidthed 9500 PRO, to see exactly where the 9700 stands in the lineup.

EL-Wrapped Rounded Cable Showcase

Published by [NT] 1

OCIA.NET have reviewed EL-Wrapped rounded cables. If you are into case modding, then u gotta have to check this article out. The review starts off by saying "When I first heard of these EL Wire wrapped round cables I was eager to get inside and change the color scheme of my Lian Li PC60. It has been UV for quite some time and while I must admit that while UV is nice, I was ready for a change. After a few weeks of damp abysmal weather here in Memphis I felt myself longing for blue skies so I decided to go with a blue scheme." For full reading warp 2 www.ocia.net.

Logitech's ClickSmart 510 Webcam

Published by [NT] 0

Hardware-pacers.com have reviewed Logitech's ClickSmart 510 Webcam. It starts something like this: "Logitech has a long history of making bad web cams, but this time they failed to do so. This product on the market is priced at $ 150 and it has many great features. For camera that will let you record 1.30 seconds of video and take over 400 pictures at the time this is not to bad. Camera itself looks OK, it has hot upload button located on the front side, and few buttons for menu selection on the back." For full reading warp 2 www.hardware-pacers.com.

DFI AD77 Infinity KT400 Socket A Board @ Techseekers.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

The DFI AD77-Infinity certainly stands above some of the other KT400 boards that are around. Given that the AD77 Infinity has 333MHz FSB Support, DDR400 Memory support, 6-channel audio, S/PDIF-in/out, ATA/133, RAID, Serial ATA, LAN, USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 (Firewire), the board represents real value for money. The boards performance is on par with any other KT400 based board and the AD77 was stable at 133 and 166Mhz FSB speeds. Clearly this board is aimed at enthusiasts with it?s comprehensive BIOS setting, inclusion of the Cooler Mount holes, and good overclock potential where we got it overclocked up to 190Mhz FSB.

AOpen AK77-8XN Socket A Motherboard

Published by Newsfactory 0

This just in from Techseekers.net.

A very interesting feature is the inbuilt FAN speed control system thats included in the BIOS and also available as a software program. Depending on the system temperature and CPU temperature the SilentTEK system alters FAN rotational speed right down to off if the system is cool enough. It's like having a little software FANBUS system. Of course these fans have to be driven from the motherboard headers and not powered by the PSU connectors.

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 2000 In The 3DChips Test Laboratory

Published by Newsfactory 1

3DChips.net, a German website, have been lucky enough to have got their hands on PNY's Quadro FX 2000 professional graphics solution for film, television, games and design visualization.

Well you know that song It's my Party and I'll cry if I want to! Well that should be Nvidia's new theme! After you see this set of results. And do you see the shiny new Nvidia Detonator drivers 42.81! Hehe... Stay tuned and here's a quick translation:

A further point of problem is the temperature control of the Quadro FX 2000. The oversized radiators, which the 1. PCI Slot additionally in requirement takes, runs in the 2D-standard mode pleasantly quietly, since the diagram map is operated instead of 400 MHz chip clock and 800 MHz memory RAM clock with only 300/600 MHz, a surely meaningful mechanism, energy, to preserve energy dissipation and hardware. If the diagram map is loaded with 3D applications, the clock frequency is raised. The user can read the core temperature in of the chip over the register map both and the ambient temperature.

Well Tikimotel if you can get hold of Mark Fox he might be able to help you out with the 43.69? He's gone AOL ooopps AWOL.

Tweakmonster Rev. 3 Lightstrip Review

Published by Newsfactory 0

OCIA checks out the Tweakmonster Rev. 3 Lightstrip Kit in their latest review! Here's a snip.

As you can see, the lightstrip gives off a nice purple haze. Keep in mind that the light given off by the strip is not near as bright as a cold cathode. The goal of the lightstrip is not to flood the area with light, but to give individual components a nice glowing accent. Users can simply place the strip inside of their PC to help illuminate hardware... or you can choose to make a project of it.

AMD Barton 2500+

Published by Newsfactory 0

Just found this review of AMD's Barton 2500+ CPU @ Thetechboard.com. Here's a snip:

I had heard a rumour that the Barton featured CPU throttling similar to that of the Pentium 4. I now know this to be true. You see, at my overclocked speeds, SiSoft Sandra CPU benchmarks would return scores significantly higher than either of my other CPU's (both my 266 MHz FSB 2400+ and my 333 MHz FSB 2600+ Thoroughbreds), but once the system was worked up to the point where the CPU should have run significantly warmer (like running Comanche 4, for example), the benchmark scores started to plummet and reveal numbers significantly LOWER than even the 2400+. Fortunately, my Epox 8RDA+ has the ability to disable CPU throttling. My overclocking was limited, but I was able to obtain improved benchmark scores.

NVIDIA Quadro FX 2000

Published by [NT] 0

Mystify 5800 Ultra Im Test Bei Chip

Published by [NT] 0

3 1/2'' Four Channel Rheobus

Published by Newsfactory 0

OCIA has posted their review of the AutoDeletePro 3 1/2" four channel Rheobus. Here's a snip:

As you can see the device is pre-made, so there is no assembly required to install. This is unlike it's baybus counter-part which required drilling out a case face plate in order to install. While it is fun to mod your case, I for one am a huge fan of plug 'n play.
