Intel Yonah Launch Date Confirmed
The launch venue is expected to be India. However, we are not able to confirm if there are going to be more simultaneous launches or if this is going to be an exclusive launch. Knowing that the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2006) will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada around the same timeframe, it makes sense for Intel to do a simultaneous launch in the U.S. as well.

Radeon X1900 will be released in Q1 of next year?
Close partner of ATI said ATI will release a brand new video card to replace X1800XT. X1800 will be a half-year-old king. The card that will be replacing X1800XT is the famous R580. Its internal name is now X1900. It is Pin-to-Pin competiable with the X1800XT PCB. The engineering sample uses the identical cooling as the X1800XT. Its competitor will be nVidia Geforce G71, a new gen 90nm core. Seems like the Q1 of next year will be an interesting year as the war btw ATI & nVidia heats up.

Chipset Serial ATA and RAID Performance Compared @ TechReport
We've spent a couple of months running Intel's ICH7R and NVIDIA's nForce4 Serial ATA RAID controllers through our exhaustive suite of storage tests, and the results are something to behold. We started with a single drive and worked our way up through RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 0+1, and 5 with two, three, and even four hard drives. Read on to see which RAID controller reigns supreme and how the different RAID levels compare in performance.

We ask ATI about Crossfire...
We asked ATI some questions about the Crossfire technology and the second generation Crossfire capable VGAs. And we got some interesting answers. For instance there will be drivers for the upcoming Intel-based MACs, but there won't be Crossfire support neither for MAC, nor for Linux. Also X1300 and X1600 won't be needing a Crossfire master card, but we'll have to wait another month for the drivers...

Round Up of GeForce 7 Series @ Tech-Hounds
After our last round up, we're pretty dismayed with both the performance of GeForce 6800GT and Radeon X800XL in newer games. For the most part, these cards are just barely making the grade with minimum fps of 30 fps (with AA and AF) or even less than that. So, like most gamers out there, we want an even faster card, 30 fps minimum is just too low for real fluid gaming. Obviously, this means taking a look at the even faster GeForce 7800GT and GTX.
