Intel Northwood Hits 3.8Ghz!
Just got an email from Visionary@vr-zone.com telling me that the battle for P4 Northwood speed world record has been very intense. It is really interesting to see the record being broken twice since last week and the current record clock speed stood at P4 2.2Ghz@3.8Ghz! The road to 4Ghz Northwood is getting nearer and we may get to see one in the near future. Also we have some early overclocking results for P4 Northwood 1.6A@3.2Ghz and 1.8A@3.4Ghz

Intel PCI Issues Too!
A short story on The Inquirer just caught my attention. According to them and Intel itself the error five in the "erratum" sheet says that both the 850 and the 860 chipsets have problems with PCI. This limits the PCI transfer rates to 90MB/s when it should be 133MB/s, and so the external PCI disk controller is, to use a technical term we just invented, "blinkered" to rates of around 80MB/s when it's running in the desperationd derby. ATI RADEON 8500 Extreme Overclocking 320MHz / 704MHz !
X-Bit labs have just finished their ATI RADEON 8500 Extreme Overclocking Project.
Here's a bite from their Experience
We overclocked RADEON 8500 core up to 325MHz, but the card didn't work very stably at this frequency and hung after working for long with heavy workload. Accordingly, we had to decrease the core frequency. The ultimate top frequency of the core, at which the card worked was stably, totaled 320MHz
