Intel Demosntrates ''Montecito'' Dual-core Itanium

The new processor will be on the market later this year and will integrate 1.7 billion transistors, obviously addressed for the high-end server market. German website Heise Online reports that the benchmark demonstration held at ISC included a system which had four Montecito chips with eight physical cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. Sustained performance reached 45.8 GFlops and set a new record level for a 4-way system. A corrresponding Opteron system (four processor/eight cores) performs at 30 GFlop/s.

Could it be that, in order to alleviate this, the defect rate is already built in to the current GeForce 7800 GTX and 24 fragment shaders is not the full number that G70 supports?

7800GTX Benchmarks

Its no big secret. I have had my cards since Monday the 20th of June. I could not resist the temptation of pairing up these bad boys before the NDA breaks, with that being said, I am not disappointed. In fact, in some aspects, I am a little suprised. I purchased eVGA cards, and the stock clocks on these are 450MHz/1.2GHz. Here is some pictures of the box and the card:
