Intel PCI Issues Too!

Published by [PM] 0

A short story on The Inquirer just caught my attention. According to them and Intel itself the error five in the "erratum" sheet says that both the 850 and the 860 chipsets have problems with PCI. This limits the PCI transfer rates to 90MB/s when it should be 133MB/s, and so the external PCI disk controller is, to use a technical term we just invented, "blinkered" to rates of around 80MB/s when it's running in the desperationd derby. X-Bit labs have just finished their ATI RADEON 8500 Extreme Overclocking Project.

Here's a bite from their Experience

We overclocked RADEON 8500 core up to 325MHz, but the card didn't work very stably at this frequency and hung after working for long with heavy workload. Accordingly, we had to decrease the core frequency. The ultimate top frequency of the core, at which the card worked was stably, totaled 320MHz

Radeon 8500 All BIOSes Review!

Published by NewsFactory 0

Want to know how to upgrade your Radeon 8500 LE OEM to an Radeon 8500 retail! Well it's easy just upgarde your BIOS but your not sure how to do that? Well ASE Labs have the answer.

Here's a bite from their review:

I'm not only going to go over the numbers of the card itself, but how I turned this humble little Radeon LELE into a retail Radeon, in the process, saving a pretty penny. Please don't try to upgrade your Radeon unless you are sure that you have tested it to make sure it will work or you are a complete nut like me and just did it. Since this is my first real video card review, all the options that I wanted to test didn't work correctly for me so this review may be a bit light on the benchmarks, but there is enough to determine the quality of the card.
