PC Perspective reports You heard it here first, guys! I just learned that NVIDIA and Intel have inked a deal to allow NVIDIA to develop chipsets for the Intel platforms. Here's what I can tell you so far, based on the info in the press release and other information I was given. First, this is a broad cross-license, which means we will be seeing multiple chipsets from NVIDIA's nForce line for Intel's platforms, probably including the high-end markets as well as the integrated graphics market. *Edit* Here is a statement we got on the subject of segments for this new license:

Abit unlocks Pentium 4 multiplier, sort of

There's been some confusion over whether Abit's CPU Accelerator is merely a fancy name for support for a 1066MHz front-side bus or Abit has found a way to change the Pentium 4's otherwise-locked multiplier. According to Abit, multiplier trickery is involved, but only for Pentium 4 540 3.4GHz and 560 3.6GHz processors.

According to GamesIndustry ATi's R500 parts headed for development kits, just in time for public unveiling on January 5th? The R500 is similar in many ways to the R520 graphics part which will power ATI's next generation PC graphics boards, and while exactly specifications aren't currently available for the part, it's known to be based on Shader Model 3.0, like NVIDIA's current high-end GeForce 6800 cards.
