The planet's name is Crateus - it features a giant crater tightly packed with countries. Before I list the changes, I wanted to include a few caveats. For one, please keep in mind that the following list of changes is subject to change. This is not necessarily the final list -- some new fixes may end up being included, and some changes listed may not end up in the patch. However, since I believe you all would prefer *some* information to *none*, I am posting this tentative list. The second caveat is that the release date is not final. The patch is going into testing now, and if all goes well, it will be released soon. As soon as I get more infromation, I'll be sure to post it.

GameSpot has snagged 12 new Xbox Doom 3 Screenshots!

First Xbox screens in nearly a year give a glimpse of the console version of the horror shooter.

BluesNews reports that the forums on Halflife2.Net have some details translated from an article on Half-Life 2 from German print PC Games magazine. The post offers hidden-text descriptions of the screenshots in the article, and word from Valve's Gabe Newell that they are planning to release the game in late summer, along with apologies for the September 30 fiasco, attributing the delay to bad scheduling, rather than the source code theft.

GGmania reports the German print-magazine GameStar had S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl as its cover-story with Interesting news and facts: just shortly before E3 2004.

Encore have updated their beta demo of SÖLDNER - Secret Wars, the upcoming vehicular 3D action game by Wings Simulations. A playable demo for Rise of Nations: Thrones & Patriots is now available, allowing you try out the imminent real-time strategy expansion pack by Big Huge Games. GamesIndustry.biz reports that the Xbox version of Doom III currently in development at Vicarious Visions will feature co-operative online play via Xbox Live, according to word coming out of an Activision press event in California today.

EA Games today released a new video clip for the upcoming release of The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth. The video is titled, "Inside the Battle: Unit Emotion" and the game producer goes in to detail about how emotions of creatures and humans help bring the game to life. For example, in traditional RTS's (Real-Time Strategy) if you direct your army to kill the enemy, they will do just that and nothing more. However, when you add "Emotion" to the army and creatures like in EA's Battle for Middle-Earth, your army will make a lot of noise and entice the enemy before attacking. GameSpy have fired off a few questions to Electronic Arts' Scott Evans, regarding their upcoming multiplayer shooter, Battlefield 2.

We've known for some time that Battlefield Vietnam wouldn't be the last game in EA and DICE's popular multiplayer franchise -- the only question has been when they'd get around to announcing what else they've been working on.

PC.IGN reports that Xbox users can take the game for a spin before spending cash at the local games retailer. LucasArts announced today they will bundle a demo and trailer of Star Wars: Battlefront with the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set, coming to stores September 21, 2004.

Activision has released the new patch for Call of Duty to bring the World War II first-person shooter by Infinity Ward to version 1.4. This release includes one new multiplayer map called Stalingrad (in addition to the two maps from v1.3), the long-awaited Punkbuster anti-cheat support, and a handful of multiplayer tweaks and bug fixes.
