Tenebrae 2: Screenshots

The Tenebrae website has been updated with news of Tenebrae 2 and a few screenshot have been posted for this new version!

This will be a "next generation" version of Tenebrae. It will play Quake 3 Arena maps exclusively, no Quake I support anymore and it is a completely stand-alone application.

Thanks to Atul fatpie for letting me know that the BattleField 1942 website has been updated with news of the new BF 1942 Patch v1.31...

In this weeks update we're going to talk about some fixes we're working on for the upcoming 1.31 patch. While we don't have a release date for this yet, we do know what we're focusing on. Naturally, with all updates of this nature, none of these are set in stone and could change by the time the patch is released. So without further adieu, here's what we're working on for 1.31.

Deus Ex: Invisible War Preview

Gamespy posted their technically focussed preview of ION Storms upcoming sequel to the Deus Ex 1 shooter/RPG mix. They attended a presentation at ION Storm and while system requirements are not yet available it is already clear that you will need at least a GeForce 3 comparable graphics accelerator due to extensive pixel shader and pixel lighting techniques. Here is a snip. Ion Storm started development with the latest Unreal engine, but systematically ripped out and replaced almost every single component. Perhaps the most impressive of these Ion improvisations is the graphics renderer, which can create visuals that in many ways rival those of the much-heralded DOOM III. The single most stunning feature is the lighting engine, which is 100% real-time, dynamic, and whatever other buzzwords you want to apply.

Command & Conquer: Generals Patch 1.02

Looks like Electronic Arts just beat another record. Right after the first patch, another update is now available for Command & Conquer Generals, bringing EA Pacific's 3D RTS to v1.02. The update fixes some bugs introduced with the previous patch. Download @ GamersHell

PC.IGN have posted their 3 page preview of ION Storm's upcoming Unreal engine powered - first person shooter/RPG, Deus Ex 2: Invisible War.

Yesterday I took a trip out to Austin to see the team at ION Storm and check in on the state of DX: Invisible War. The trip could not have been better timed. After a lot of compartmentalized development, the separate pieces of the game have just now come together in playable form. On hand were versions of both the Xbox and PC versions of the game. Although the look of the game is slightly different on the two platforms, they share the same technology and the same content.

Neverwinter Nights Patch 1.28

A new patch is available bringing the award winning 3D role-playing game by BioWare to version 1.28. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory Canceled

ID Software and Activision announced today they are canceling the retail release of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Despite a strong effort from talented developers, the single player portion of the game did not progress as anticipated. Canceling the release was a difficult decision made in the best interest of the Wolfenstein franchise and fans.
