2007 has brought us a few more titles for Nintendo's hot new game system, and some of them have a little fun buried deep within them. Unfortunately, to get to it, you've got to dig through layer upon layer of clumsy, awkward use of the system's motion-sensing controls.
Is it worth the struggle? That depends on how badly you need to be entertained....... Wired has more.

While the editors of Games for Windows' official magazine may not be ready to drink the Vista-flavored Kool-Aid just yet, Microsoft is ready to give Vista early adopters a handful of reasons to pick up the latest OS upgrade ... err, at least they're ready to announce a date when you may want to plan on doing the picking up: May 8th. Yup, in eight weeks, Microsoft's Games for Windows Live service (doesn't roll of the tongue as easily as Xbox Live, eh?) and its inaugural title, Halo 2, will be available for Vista users..... Welcome Back, Commander, to real time FMVs, fast action and smooth gameplay, with the classic old Command and Conquer feel. Not all of you may like strategy games, but Command and Conquer is one of the series that described the RTS genre, and it can never be forgotten. Needless to say, EA have made a fantastic job on this game!

Real-time strategy game fans will be happy to know that EA has released a demo of the upcoming Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. The demo weighs in at a hefty 1.18GB, and it's available from both EA's site and Fileshack. TechReport

A free, fun and addicting pool game with two different game modes: easy and hard. The physics are nice, and the game has almost no glitches at all.

Little game for your lunch break Your mission is to rescue prisoners of war (POWs) from enemy territory. Fly your helicopter into one of the three hotzones and pick up the POWs and bring them safely back to your homebase. You must defend your helicopter against enemy air-to-air attacks from attack helicopters and defend your helicopter against enemy ground-to-air attacks from troopers on the ground. The difficulty of the game will increase with each level you advance. The last two hotzones in the game, will be unlocked as you advance in level. Please try to avoid shooting the POWs, this isnt Lemmings.

Microsoft has rolled out a Vista software update that, in part, addresses compatibility issues associated with certain "legacy" games. The update is not a response to Alex St. John's accusation that Vista's tight security could block popular online casual game networks; those remarks have been generally discredited.
The update improves support for the following titles: Age of Empires III (and The WarChiefs Expansion Pack), Battlefield 2 Deluxe, Dungeon Siege II, Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna, Fable: The Lost Chapters, Family Feud Online, Flight Simulator X, Lego Star Wars, Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, and Zoo Tycoon 2 (and the African Adventure, Endangered Species, Marine Mania, and Zookeeper Collection Expansion Packs). During the Vista launch party in Munich, we had the opportunity to film an Age of Conan flyby demo running on a Nvidia G80-Card and Windows Vista. It shows real DirectX-10 graphics for the first time and although the resolution is not very high, it gives you a good first impression of the next generation visuals of the upcoming MMORPG-title. Publisher Midway announced today during a press event that Epic Games' anticipated Unreal Tournament 2K7 has been renamed to the simpler Unreal Tournament 3. It was also announced that the game, which has never had a solid release date but was previously expected on the early side of this year, is now set to ship some time in the second half of 2007. The Inq reports: If all goes well Company of Heroes should get the DirectX 10 patch by the end of March 2007. It might be the first commercial and available game to use the DirectX 10 rendering and the benefits of the DirectX 10 hardware. DirectX 10 patch will make the game look better as some eye munchies are possible with Direct X 10 only. The patch will make the rendering faster and the game should run quicker too. Overall you might not see the benefits in Frames per second as the new patch will do more then the DirectX 9 version of the game. The performance should level up but the game will look better.

Company of Heroes (CoH) is a World War II RTS game. You will be playing as a commander of US Able Company during World War II against the German war machine.
