Westwood has also released an updated toolset for Command & Conquer Renegade, their recent 3D action game. While the package has been updated into a slightly larger download, there are no details on the changes. Amazon is running a preorder program for Epic Games' upcoming multiplayer shooter UT 2003. Additionally the have a first boxshot available. This may not be the final retail design but interesting nonetheless.

Ok, in their infinate wisdom, IFG has decided to release the MOD version for those of you that can't get the retail version yet. Also there is a patch to upgrade the retail to 3.1.5. Just goto our download section and you can find it there.

This patches directly from version 1.05 to 1.07. To install, just click on the exe and it will find where and how to patch. 1.07 is not net-game compatible with older versions. Everyone needs to upgrade - both servers and clients.

According to german game magazine 4Players.de Neverwinter Nights will be shipped as a DVD only game. They spoke to publisher Infogrames and learned this move was due to considerations of copy protection as well as the convenience of gamers (no more disc juggling!). According to 4Players Nerverwinter Nights will hit german store shelves on June 20th, 2002.

As promised, the version 1.1.0.9 patches for Half-Life and version 1.0.0.4 patches for the retail edition of Counter-Strike are now available for download. This release offers the new Anti-Cheat protection, HLTV changes, integration of Steam technology, a bunch of bug fixes and other changes. You can use the SierraUp utility (from the "Configuration->Update" menu) that was distributed with previous releases, and participants in the public Steam beta test should be able to upgrade around this time as well.

Valve Software has released new dedicated servers for Half-Life in anticipation of today's client releases. Bethesda Softworks announced today that the highly-anticipated role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for PC, has gone to gold master and will be in stores the first week of May. Morrowind will also be available soon for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. Morrowind is an epic, open-ended single-player RPG in which a player can create and play any kind of character imaginable. Raven Software's Kenn Hoekstra has updated his .plan with word that they have released some editing tools for their Quake3 engine powered action title, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast. It weighs in at 4megs and includes the following:

Infogrames and Bioware have called for a closed betatest of their upcoming 3D roleplaying game Neverwinter Nights based on the AD&D roleplaying rules. Registration is required to take part. Users will be chosen randomly.

Warcraft 3 is the awesome sequel to Warcraft 2. I got the change (like some others of you) to play the beta. I'm not gonna write a full review since most of you who are interested already seen to much reviews anyway.

But what I am gonna say is that this game is just awesome! It's not only good looking, the gameplays is very nicely, and the animations and eye for detail in the game is simply astonishing. I played this game against a friend of mine (Thanks Tony for being crazy enough to play against me), and, ofcourse I failed miserably because he already played it a couple of times before, and played this sort of games more. I hope he's happy now ;-) Anyway I'm very happy also. Playing the game is like a dream! I hope the following screenshots will give you a nice impression about the game!

Mark Rein brought the UT2003 circus to Italy, and if you weren't there, then you have the chance to see what went down. Check out this streaming video for the goodies. (You should at least have ISDN to be able to see it) footage, showing off the game's weapons, maps, gameplay modes, editor and more. The video has an approximate runtime of 30 minutes!

Savagenews.com just got 2 screenshots of the next Command & Conquer game called Command & Conquer: Generals. The interesting part is that we are not seeing a 2D world anymore but everthing seems to be 3D which looks quite cool :)

In addition, this release begins the public migration of Valve's games to the recently announced Steam broadband platform.
