Xbox Price Slashed!

Published by NewsFactory 4

Just to let you peeps know, that where going to buy the X-Box! Hold on a bit cos the price of the X-Box is dropping! I would like to know if Microsoft is going to give rebates to all the poor peeps that just got hold of one. Here's the new prices:

The Xbox, which launched in Australia at $649 just over a month ago, will now cost $399.

A similar price cut in Europe brings the Xbox to £199 or 299 Euro.

Looks like I am going blind. LOL! Price drop would take effect on April 26 and any customers who had already purchased the Xbox at full price would receive $250 worth of Xbox products as a gift.

Soldier Of Fortune 2: Double Helix Multiplayer Test Screenshots!

Published by [PM] 1

We snagged some nice screenshots of the leaked SoF2 multiplayer test for you to check out. Performance on Athlon XP 1800+, 256Mbyte DDR, Radeon 8500 with 6058 drivers was okay. No stuttering, good image quality. The always run mode seemed a bit slow compared to other first person shooter games. The texture detail is quite high but there are no detail textures like in No One Lives Forever or Serious Sam 2: The Second Encounter. Weapon models are highly detailed and weapon sounds quite realistic. No bots though. Enjoy the screenshots...

Actionvault Unreal Tournament 2003 Interview With Digital Extreme!

Published by NewsFactory 0

ActionVault have posted their interview with the guys behind the upcoming first person shooter, Unreal Tournament 2003. Digital Extreme!

Action Vault: Based on your personal preferences, what are a couple of your favorite weapons in Unreal Tournament 2003, and why?

James "Gwot" Edwards Lead Modeler/Animator The shock Rifle would be my number one fave, with the Translocator coming in second. With these two weapons, I can cover a lot of ground and at the same time pull off some fancy moves while doing so. I see myself as more of a finesse player, so I like weapons that focus on accuracy as well as being very dynamic in game. I love doing combos or just going for the aimed shot kills... not much of a zoomed view player myself so the Shock Rifle is where it's at. Translocator turns you into a highly mobile killing machine. It really breathed new life into teamplay as we know it. And nothing beats a telefrag. Not even flipping out and chopping off people's heads, ninja-style. Awesome! And by that I mean totally sweet. =D

Quake 3 Fortress 2 Released!

Published by NewsFactory 0

It's been a long road for Quake 3 Fortress 2 but after 2 years in production it has finally been released!

Quotes from q3f.com: Our goal with Q3F was to modify the multi-player aspects of Quake 3 to create a much more team-oriented experience. We hope we've achieved this through the implementation of different player classes such as Soldier, Agent and Paramedic, all with unique weapons, strengths and abilities.

A large part of the team-play aspect comes from Q3F's support for several game-objective possibilities, which include 'Capture the Flag', 'Command Point' and 'Capture and Hold' styles of play.

You'll find full explanations of all the classes, weapons, maps and game styles contained both within the online documentaion and the read distributed with our modification.

Warning: New HLDM/CS Hack! Yuck!

Published by NewsFactory 0

Just got word from Matt of a new cheat for HLDM/CS. Here's what he's saying!

Not really, hardware related.. but since most of us are gamers, thought I'd send this out anyway. There appears to be a new hack for HL, and all the HL mods, that makes the hitbox, a lot larger. This means, the cheater, can shoot you a few inches off and still hit you!

Update Got a reply to this Warning: New HLDM/CS Hack! situation from n1neb4 and here's his email is he right. post your comments Here!

Plz get your facts straight before going and posting useless information like this? It's not a hack, it is infact a netcode tweak. What it does is modify the prediction a bit, so instead of seeing a clients "supposed" position on the map, it shows their actual position. With this, a good player can use this and have an advantage SLIGHTLY, but not much. You still have to have the aim. This is not a hack in any way shape or means, so plz in the future don't just post something like that unless you know for sure what it is. Just because some newbie (not referring to you) has no clue what he is talking about doesn't mean it is neccessary to spread rumors like this, that are going to get the whole community hyped up about nothing. Newbies are what ruin cs.
