Ubi Soft Entertainment has released a new patch for Far Cry, bringing the acclaimed tropical island first-person shooter by Crytek Studios to version 1.32. I've slapped up some benchmarks from Battlefield 2 demo, using our test system to go through a demo we made from our server. The Athlon64 3800+ and the Sapphire Radeon X800XL 512MB were used for testing. Expect more graphics benchmarks tomorrow.

The wait is finally over for all us Battlefield 2 fans.

In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with over 100 players in some of the largest online battles on the PC.

VIA DOOM 3 Multiplayer Benchmarking Map

After receiving several requests to create a multiplayer map suitable for benchmarking purposes, I set aside a full week to do exactly that and am pleased to announce that the results are finally ready for human consumption. After running some tests we've found that this map (and the benchmarking demo we've created to be used with it) will push most systems about twice as hard as the default single player demo, and thus offers a better example of what to expect from next generation DOOM 3 engine games such as Quake 4 and Prey.
