Following the release of Doom3 it?s seen many a discussions such as gameplay, graphics, benchmarking and tweaking. In this short interview we talk to id?s John Carmack about various elements of the title that are pertinent to benchmarking, as well as some of the queries that have arisen following some of the choices made within the games shader code.

The promised playable demo for Myst IV Revelation is now available, allowing you to try out the first-person point-n-click adventure sequel being crafted by Ubi Soft Montreal. Word is the demo "puts players in Atrus' room, which contains a number of objects, a trademark Myst puzzle, and an FMV flashback of Atrus' daughter."

Epic Games have released the latest patch for Unreal Tournament 2004, bringing the sci-fi first-person shooter to version 3270. This release adds a third batch of improvements, bug fixes and other changes for the Onslaught mode, general gameplay, menus, demo recording, networking, mod support, engine and more.

3D Gamers reports a playable demo of Worms Forts: Under Siege is now available, offering the first opportunity to try out the fortified 3D turn-based strategy game by Team17 Software. This demo contains one single-player map set in ancient Egypt along with one multiplayer map situated in classical Greece.

Wings Simulations have released the official playable demo for SÖLDNER - Secret Wars, renewing the opportunity to try out their vehicular 3D action game. This demo contains 4 maps (Army Base, Riverside, Deep Forest and Cold Winter) along with a selection of the full game's weapons and vehicles, all using the latest codebase.

Doom 3 is finally here and TweakTown are tipping many gamers around the world are dieing to benchmark their system with one of the most anticipated games to hit computer screens ever. At last the game we were all wainting for was oficially announced... And just a day after that we see a lot of people benchmarking their PCs with the game. The results we are seeing are far far away from what is a good framerate for a 3D Shooter. On high-end systems equiped with 5900/9800 series videocards with high detail at resolutions of 1024x768 we get around 30-40 frames per second average... and on computers equipped with 6800 series videocard framerates reach around 60-70. PC.IGN have thrown up their latest Half-Life 2 article in which they get to play Half-Life 2, Valve Software's first person shooter at last Saturday's G-Phoria event.

I found that most of the objects that were placed throughout the depot, such as bottles, crates or other items could be picked up or interacted with, although I had to be careful about carrying or throwing some things around. For instance, I accidentally bounced a bottle off of a table and it careened towards a Combine soldier, who immediately switched on his shock stick.

Guru 3D reports that last week we heard that S.t.a.l.k.e.r. was going to be delayed for many months to come. A lot of critisism was given for that choice. But Today I noticed this post from PixelDude from our forums. He picked up Doom3 today, and to his suprise he saw an empty Stalker DVD containers on the "Coming soon" shelves.

If you already got Doom 3 you've probably noticed the brief manual that doesn't give you much information. The game has a lot of features that can be modified with console commands that are not documented in the manual. If you want to get more information about these commands you can find a list with brief description for each of the 268 commands in Hwspirit's forum.

To open the console you have to press 'Ctrl+Alt+~' by default and type the following codes in.

The long-awaited SDK for Far Cry has now been released, offering prospective mod authors everything needed to alter and expand Crytek Studios' first-person shooter. This CryEngine Mod SDK contains "documentation, samples, exporters, plugins, source assets, and other useful things to learn how to create any kind of MOD or TC."

A couple people have gotten copies of Doom III as stores are now receiving them. One guy got it from Best Buy and another from an uncle who owns a video game store. It is not fake, so don't say that. Just enjoy these for now...

The official trailer for DOOM 3 has been released. This higher resolution clip sports nearly two and a half minutes of in-game cinematic and action-packed gameplay footage to illustrate the game's premise.
