After reading some of the feedback on the 28.90 Detonator driver thread in regards to Unreal Tournament! I decided to conduct a few tests myself.
Using Direct3D version 436 of UT and the Thunder demo, I got an average of 90 frames per second at 1024x768 and 69 frames per second at 1280x1024. This was with a GeForce4 Ti 4600 and Athlon XP 1800+ processor.
The last time I benchmarked UT was in my Prolink GeForce3 Ti 200 review with the 22.40 Detonator drivers. On the GeForce3 Ti 500 and GeForce3 Ti 200, I had a result of 121 fps at 1024x768. At 1280x1024, the GeForce3 Ti 500 had 113 fps and the GeForce3 Ti 200 had 99 fps.
Something is certainly amiss with UT performance.
I got too say am also having problems with Detonator driver 28.90 and UT but is it just the 28.90 Detonator driver that are having theses problems.I have also noticed the every driver after 27.42 give's me problems with UT. If the same is happening to you post your comments Here and one more quick note is that ever since Detonator driver 27.42 there's No more DVD Play Backed I don't know if you have noticed that if your try to play a DVD? you get a D3D Driver error OR is that just me. Am using PowerDVD 3.0
