Apple Computer, Inc. announced its iPod music player few years ago. Until then Apple was hardly a known company amongst regular computing users, due to the company?s high-end Macintosh computers that were based on OS X, a completely new and unfamiliar platform to many users.

With the introduction of iPod, which could be a desperately planned strategy from Apple to acquire market shares in the budding portable and online music industry, Apple?s iPod boomed, literally boomed to a point that no other MP3 player manufacturer could counterattack Apple?s strategy.
