He has successfully overclocked an AMD 2700+ CPU to 3100Mhz using Prometeia cooling system, and using this chip aboard an ABIT NF7-S broke into the previously Intel only TOP 5 at Futuremarks ORB with a score of 21,085. Our Overclocking Guru has done it again with AMD, this time breaking the 3Ghz barrier WITHOUT use of LN2 or dry ice cooling, and this 2700+ CPU was riding aboard his ABIT KD7 and cooled by the Prometeia cooling system .
After a steep learning curve with the new ABIT nForce2 offering, the NF7-S, which involved a solution/fix for running high FSB on it with 2600-2700+ CPUs (333Mhz CPU's had been limited to 180ish FSB on this board) found herehttp://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6934, OPPAINTER took the trusty Dual Channel deep into previously Intel only waters in 3DMark and placed himself in the Top 5 with a blistering run of 21,085 3DMarks.
