GE-Proton10-8 released

The recent release of GE-Proton10-8 addresses several important issues and enhancements for users of Proton, a compatibility layer for running Windows games on Linux. This latest update primarily focuses on resolving the black screen regression problem encountered in Doom Eternal when using Wine-Wayland.

Additionally, the update disables Steam input and the Xalia compatibility layer within Wine-Wayland, as they were found to be non-functional with this configuration, opting instead to enable SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer) for better performance.

Moreover, GE-Proton10-8 includes Protonfixes that enhance the gaming experience for "Blade & Soul NEO," making the game playable, though users should be aware of a known crash that occurs when accessing the settings menu during gameplay. Interestingly, the settings can still be opened without issue during the character selection phase.

For "Wuthering Waves," another Protonfix has been implemented, setting SteamOS=1, which also renders this title playable for users.

This update signifies Glorious Eggroll's continuous effort to improve the compatibility and performance of Windows games on Linux through Proton, ensuring that more titles are accessible without significant issues. Further enhancements and fixes are likely to be part of future updates as the community continues to provide feedback and report issues
