GE-Proton10-10 released

Published by

GloriousEggroll has officially launched GE-Proton10-10, enhancing compatibility for various applications and games running on the Proton platform. One of the significant updates addresses issues related to 32-bit applications that require WOW64 for ntsync; the necessity to enable WOW64 manually has been eliminated as ntsync is now enabled by default, contingent upon kernel support.

In this release, SDL support is automatically integrated when utilizing Wine-Wayland, compensating for the current lack of Steam Input functionality on this platform. A noteworthy addition is the JacKeTUs gameinput stub patch specifically for the game Le Mans Ultimate. Input fixes have also been implemented for several games, including Warframe, Smite 2, Summoner's War, Mortal Kombat 1, and Voice Attack 2, catering to both SteamDeck configurations.

Additional improvements include the removal of deprecated core count limits for New World, with multiple fixes introduced for Darksiders and its various versions on GOG, EGS, and Amazon. Protonfixes have also been applied to games such as Chronology, Blood & Bacon, JR East Train Simulator, and the GOG version of DOOM 2016, which resolves issues related to a black screen during gameplay.

Moreover, the release updates several critical libraries and tools, including DXVK, vkd3d, and Wine, ensuring users benefit from the latest advancements in performance and compatibility.

Overall, GE-Proton10-10 marks a significant step forward in enhancing gaming experiences on Linux platforms, particularly for those using SteamDeck and other Proton-supported systems. The continued updates and fixes underscore a commitment to refining user experience and expanding game compatibility within the Proton ecosystem.

In future updates, users can look forward to further refinements, expanded game support, and continuous enhancements to the integration of Windows applications on Linux systems through the Proton framework
