Flyoobe (Flyby11) 1.5 released

Published by

Belim has unveiled Flyoobe version 1.5, a significant update to the tool previously known as Flyby11. This release focuses on enhancing the "Install Only" section, enabling users to access a range of installation and repair tools more efficiently. By integrating native Windows features—such as Reset and In-place Upgrade—with popular external utilities like Media Creation Tool and Rufus, Flyoobe aims to streamline the installation and repair processes.

Key improvements include a revamped interface that now offers explanations for each option within the dropdown menu, helping users navigate the choices more intuitively. Future updates are expected to introduce smart auto-recommendations, although the current version intentionally avoids AI integration within the tool, opting for a Copilot button as an optional guide.

The update also lays the groundwork for rebranding the repository from Flyby11 to Flyoobe, suggesting a consolidation of both projects into a unified codebase. Notably, the release enhances user experience by simplifying access to essential functions, from BIOS booting to Windows resets, making previously complex tasks straightforward.

New features in Flyoobe 1.5 include:
- Native Reset Provider: Access the built-in Reset this PC wizard with options to keep files or remove everything.
- Rufus Provider: Create bootable USB drives with CLI support, although Rufus CLI functionality is limited.
- Media Creation Tool Provider: Launch Microsoft's MCT to create Windows 10/11 installation media.
- Ventoy Provider: Install Ventoy on a USB drive for easy multi-ISO booting without reformatting.
- In-place Repair Upgrade Provider: Use a mounted ISO to repair or upgrade Windows while retaining apps and files.
- Run Setup from ISO Provider: Initiate a full clean installation from an ISO.
- Mount ISO Provider: Mount Windows ISOs using PowerShell for easy access.
- Reboot to UEFI Provider: Directly reboot into firmware settings without the need for hotkeys.
- Boot Menu Info Provider: Display common boot menu hotkeys.
- Backup Drivers Provider: Export installed drivers before a clean install to avoid driver issues.
- Spot.exe: Now fully supports High DPI displays.
- Windows Update Section: Completely redesigned for enhanced reliability and user experience.
- UI Tweaks: Various refinements to improve the overall interface.

As the development of Flyoobe continues, there are aspirations to eventually include a native ISO creator, although the focus remains on complementing existing tools like Rufus rather than competing with them. This update signifies a step forward in making installation and repair tasks more accessible and user-friendly
