Just got word that RivaTuner 2.0 RC 12.4 has been released! Do I need to say any more?

Here's a couple of freeware Windows XP tools that were sent in by Tim @ Majorgeeks.com.

XP Smoker 1.5.16: It fully optimizes your hard drive and CD drive's read ahead and write behind cache, optimizes 56K, Cable, & DSL to get the most out of it. It also, optimizes the display settings, filesystem settings, even your mouse port refresh rate. This program is amazing and the best thing about it... it's free! It also has 30+ Internet Explorer security settings.

Tweak FX 0.7: Tweak FX is a powerful tool for changing settings in the Windows system registry. It uses plugins, written in VBScript.

Gainward have released a new version of their tweaking tool: ExperTool v3.07! You can grab it here.

PowerStrip 3.40 provides advanced, multi-monitor, programmable hardware support to a wide range of graphics cards - from the venerable Matrox Millennium I to the latest SiS Xabre and Radeon 9800. It is in fact the only program of its type to support multiple graphics cards from multiple chipset vendors, simultaneously, under every Windows operating system from Windows 95 to XP. ReneB lets us know that he has released a new version of his popular DVD2one software, v1.1.3. Besides that he has also released the first version of DVD2oneX for the Apple Mac: the revolutionary software developed by the Dutch Erwin v/d Berg has amazed many people because of its lighting fast engine that will make the movie fit onto a DVD-R in under 30 minutes.

Feeware CPU-Z is a program that provides some information on your CPU :

Processor name and vendor Core stepping and process Processor package Processor current core voltage Internal and external clocks, clock multiplier Partial overclock detection Processor features, including supported instructions sets. L1 and L2 cache informations : location, size, speed, technology. Motherboard informations : BIOS, chipset, memory, AGP.

ASUS SmartDoctor2 is designed to satisfy two major goals. One is to monitor graphic chip Status, altering users about abnormal events, such as fan malfunction or chip overheat.

A new referencefile (0R137 20.04.2003) is now available. Included are newly added signatures for: Date-Regon (Generic Dialer), Ad-popper-Hijacker and SearchBarCash-Hijacker (aka Aupdate). Updated signatures for ABCSearchBrowseraid, Global-Netcom and Net-Debit. As always, use Webupdate to install the new referencefile, or download it manually from here.

MetaMachine has released an updated release candidate of the popular hybrid P2P file sharing client eDonkey 2000 v.0.48. This client is also compatible with the Overnet network. According to this announcement it is a major bugfix release. Of note is that the client now allows more than 64 connections, which happened due to a code bug.

TVTool was developed to replace the poor support video card manufacturers had for TV-Out. TVTool works with most Nvidia based cards.

XMovie is a reference movie player for MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MP3 audio, MP2 audio, WAV, AIFF, AC3 audio, Quicktime and DVD's on Linux boxes. XMovie is primarily used for uncompressed, high resolution playback of output from an editing program and not necessarily for low resolution, low bitrate internet downloads. 6 channels of audio can be sent to a soundcard supporting 6 channel audio. More importantly, HDTV program and ATSC transport streams play back. These streams are usually obtained through a capture board like the WinTV HD.

The compression utility WinRAR is a powerful archive manager with support for packing RAR and ZIP archives and unpacking RAR, ZIP, CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR and ISO archives. Beta 4 is a minor bigfix release. Download

Here's a few tools that have been updated for your CPU!

CPU ID 1.31: CPU ID displays all the available information about your computers current processor. The information given includes model number, processor family, cache size, clock speed, and manufacturer codename plus much more.

Central Brain Identifier: Central Brain Identifier is an AMD processor identification utility.

After nearly 6 months of development ZoomPlayer 3.0 is finally done. As any of you, that have followed the development of this version know, the number of changes and features included in this release is huge. The change list alone is over 30k of text data alone. Zoom Player is a robust media and DVD front-end player.

CPUCool 7.2.2 Beta is capable of monitoring temperature, fan speed, voltages for many motherboards. It works with all chipsets from Intel, ALI, VIA, AMD, and SIS 5595 motherboards.

KaZaA Lite K++ is a cracked version of the popular KaZaA Lite. It's the same program, but with some new features added to it. Download from up to 40 sources at the same time per file (maximum was 8). Unlimited times "search more" is possible (used to be only once). "Find more sources" time-limit is now 4 minutes (used to be 10 minutes). Also, KaZaA Lite doesn't use port 1214 anymore, in case you've changed the port to another value.
