Imagine a world where all graphics cards were made more equal. One in which the latest 7800 used 16 pipelines and 450/1000 clocks and the X1800 used its 16 pipelines at 450/1000 speeds. You may wonder why even review the X800XL since the X1K series is (somewhat) out. Well, these cards cost around USD 250 to 350, well below the X1800XL and very near the X1600 series. Experience (and preliminary benchmarks) seem to indicate that the X1600 series has about the same level of performance as the GeForce 6800, only when not doing AA and AF.

Some of the world's best overclockers have been invited to treat the X1800XTs to some LN2. Which seem to indicate that the clock speeds achieved were 856Mhz Core, 1880Mhz Memory. We will not be surprised to see the memory go pass 1900Mhz, these 1.2ns Memory seem to be clocking really well on these cards.
