Many folks who have read my review of ATI CrossFire in the past week have been wondering where they could buy the motherboards and CrossFire Edition graphics cards in order to build a CrossFire system for themselves. They've wondered that, in part, because of this passage from the conclusion of my CrossFire review, shortly after I recommend not buying a CrossFire setup right away:

We saw some earlier roadmaps that were implying that ATI plans to do R520, Radeon X1800 in AGP variation but it turns out that the company dropped its original plan.

Radeon X1300LE Performance

HKEPC has done some testing on the upcoming 90nm RV515 to be officially known as X1300LE. This card comes with 4 pipelines and was compared against the NVIDIA GeForce 6600 card with 8 pipelines. It is certainly delightful to see a low-end X1300LE can win a mid-range 6600 card in 3DMark05 where the score is 2882 and 2506 respectively.

NVIDIA To Counter R5xx w/ 90nm G7x

NVIDIA is going to launch their flagship GPU, GeForce Go 7800 GTX for notebooks within the next few days. We heard that it is essentially a desktop part so all these while, NVIDIA is trying hard to shave watts out of it probably by lowering the core clock and fine-tuning the PowerMizer 6.0 technology. Nevertheless, it will be clocked at 400MHz core and 550MHz memory at launch.

AMD has confirmed on the Socket M2 design and will be unveiling the Socket M2 processors in Q2 2006. Single-core Athlon 64/FX "Orleans" and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2 "Windsor" will be based on 90nm processor technology and will support DDR-II 667 memory bus, bi-directional 1GHz HT bus, Presidio Security as well Pacifica Virtualization.

ATI's RV515LE aka X1300LE Scores leak

The X1300LE the budget card of the R520 family has been exposed on a Spanish website. ChileHardware has posted some benches of the budget card and some of the scores are pretty amazing for a budget card. As it scores around 2900 in 3dmark05, 6400 in 3dmark03, and 20000 in 3dmark01.
