Audigy 2 series AD_EXT Pinout Has been Mapped

Several members of the kX Forum (mentioned below) here on Driverheaven have mapped the AD_EXT header that appears on most Audigy 2 series cards. Creative caused uproar in the modding and sound enthusiast communities by not publishing this pinout as they did for the AUD_EXT that exists on the old Live! and Audigy 1 series cards.

"To start on the power supply, I sat down with a pencil and paper and thought out the process. Modifying the existing power supply would be relatively easy, and would involve more physical work than design. However, the peltier power supply section would have to be designed from the ground up. However, our task is simplified in that a pelt is a solid state device, and does not need a sophisticated and perfectly clean voltage waveform in order to operate. Therefore, I decided upon a classic DC power supply that was based on an AC transformer with a rectifier bridge and capacitor for smoothing. Here’s the simple schematic..."

Our bro's over at TweakPC have a new service out called Interactive Benchmarks for ATi's range of graphics cards at the moment, they'll add nvidia cards at a later date! All you do is choose the benchmark you want, set your filtering level upto 4xAA/8xAF, and resolution upto 1600x1200 ! Then hit Go.

Chris Ray a reviewer here at nV News, had undertaken a small project to investigate anisotropic filtering capabilties of NVIDIA's new NV40 GPU. Chris has a reference GeForce 6800 regular and used this to test the NV40's anisotropic filtering image quality. He has provided screen captures from Unreal Tournament 2003 with various degrees of anisotropic filtering as well as various optimizations on or off. To round up, he includes a summary of benches with the different anisotropic filtering settings.

NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra Voltage Mod with Pencil

VR-Zone's resident hardcore overclocker, Shamino. has thrown up a new Guide to Modding your GeForce 6800 Ultra voltage through resistor or a humble pencil to improve overclockability!

Look for the chip at the back of the card as shown. You can measure the voltage of your 6800 ultra from the point shown below. Without drivers loaded it should be around 1.13v with drivers loaded it should be 1.43v. To increase voltage, you can solder a 100K variable resistor to the point shown.
