Thanks to Mackey D for pointing me in the direction of this article posted over at FurtureMarks Forum by jslattery.

For a while my tRas was set on 5, but then I changed it to 6 according to a Mushkin article on optimal timings. A lot of questions have been apparently asked about the best setting for tRas on Nforce2's regarding FSB and such. Today, I ran some benches in Sandra2004's Memory Bandwidth Benchmark to see what would work out best.

64-bit Drivers Compared : New Releases From ATI and nVidia

Published by Newsfactory 0

Just spotted this 64-bit driver comparsion posted over at GamePC! Here's a snip.

Here at GamePC, we've been following the development of Microsoft's 64-bit consumer-level operating system for some time. Originally set to be out by this time, Microsoft's Windows XP for 64-bit Extended Systems (commonly known as XP 64-bit) is of critical importance for AMD. Having Microsoft code an entire operating system solely around AMD?s proposed 64-bit specifications has proven to be a huge victory for AMD. If the OS is released before Intel gets their consumer-level 64-bit chips on the market, AMD has the chance to permanently associate their name with 64-bit technology.

From Air to Watercooling Guide

Published by Newsfactory 0

With the hot summer months ahead of us I got tired of my PC running in the high 38c-45c range. After doing a study on the top products available, I decided the time was now. Watercooling has many advantages over air. One of the most widely held superstitions is that watercooling will make your CPU very cold. This is not true. In fact watercooling?s main advantage is to keep your temperatures at a set rate, unlike air cooling, which has a large fluctuation in temperatures.

RADEON X800 PRO Performance with Athlon XP

The FiringSquad have a new article out Called RADEON X800 PRO Performance with Athlon XP that looks at the different CPU scaling you get when paired with AMD's Athlon XP! Here's a snip.

Due to time constraints, one feature that we?ve had to remove from our graphics performance previews as of late is CPU scaling analysis. In the past we?d rely on one or perhaps two titles to explore this topic, but this paints a fairly narrow picture of the subject matter. At the same time however, obviously the more applications and processors you add, the more time it takes: a project that may only take a day or two very quickly blossoms into three or four. Next thing you know the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) expires and it?s time to publish the article!
