Gamers Hell.com reports that courtesy of Revolution Software LTD the higly acclaimed and all time classic adventure title by the name of Beneath a Steel Sky is now available for free! We have mirrored both the CD version and the floppy disk one together with latest version of SCUMM VM if you have issues running the game on any modern o/s.

A german gaming print magazine Gamestar.de reports that ATI plans to bundle the upcoming Valve Software first person shooter Half-Life 2 with its new Radeon 9900.
This speaks against the release speculation, because the offical GOLD release is set to be the 13th of September.

There's a new demo of TRON 2.0, updating this playable 3D cyberspace action game by Monolith Productions to the final code. This demo contains light cycle and disc combat tutorials, a full mission from the single-player campaign, a single-player light cycle map called "Newbie Authentication," and improved multiplayer code that you can try out on the "Old System" light cycle and "Battle Rings" disc arena maps.

Fileplanet have posted the first look at the new world of Tribes: Vengeance, in form of an awesome high-quality 640x480 resolution video. The movie highlights the "rag doll" physics you'll encounter in this extension to the Tribes universe.

Battle Field 1942 Mod: Galactic Conquest v0.1a ...The first release of Galactic Conquest places you on the ice planet Hoth in an epic battle of survival from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Blaze over the snow in speeders, man the anti-personnel cannons, and ready those blasters for a long battle between the Empire and Rebel forces.

Just a follow-up on yesterday's Half-Life 2 delay story: to clear things up, we have confirmed directly with Vivendi Universal that there is a delay. We've even double checked. Valve has yet to send an official confirmation or denial either way on this, and other sites are reporting that there isn't a delay based on alleged email answers Gabe Newell sent to random fans. In some cases, these mails are obviously forged.

Racer is a free (for non-commercial use), car simulation project using professional car physics papers to achieve a realistic feeling. Cars, tracks and such can be created relatively easy (compared to other, more closed, driving simulations). The 3D and other file formats are, or should be, documented. Editors and support programs are also available to get a very customizable and expandable simulator. OpenGL is used for rendering. GameSpot reports that the release date of Half Life 2, originally scheduled for September 30th 2003, has been canceled and that the game will be released later this year. GameSpot has received this information from an unnamed Vivendi Universal representative. Without commenting on the delay, the representative reaffirmed that the game would ship this year, sometime during the holiday season. Update: Maybe the information is wrong, as Shacknews pointed out. Gabe Newell from Valve reacted to this information with: First time I've heard about this. We will see if it's true or not. As promised, new retail patches for Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield are now available, upgrading Ubi Soft's squad-based tactical shooter to version 1.31. This release merely "fixes a server crash during countdown due to armpatch files being uploaded/downloaded," and it's currently available in US, UK, German, French and Spanish editions (with the Canadian and Italian ones presumably still to follow) from the previous v1.3 and the original game.

3DGamers.com reports that a new release of Battlecraft 1942 is now available, bringing this map editor for Digital Illusion's multiplayer shooter Battlefield 1942 to version 1.1. This update includes a new Surface Map Painter, Undo functionality, a new Con File Editor, Lock/Unlock objects, a Nudge Tool, bug fixes, and plenty of other changes.

LucasArts recently held an event in San Francisco to show off its 2003 games to the press. GameSpot was there, cameras in hand. They brought new impressions of LucasArts' upcoming games as well as new videos of games like Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike in action back with them. A short feature on the PC version of Knights of the Old Republic is also included.
