Techseekers reports that in a preview of Half Life 2 over at Game (video game store chain here in IE+UK). There are quite a few new screenshots, well vidcaps judging by the quality still impressive none the least. There's a few weapons on show and cityscape views as well as some giant alien that's mows it's way through a road strewn with wrecked cars and a lot more, e.g.driving in vehicles. Check it out. Like it or not, The Sims is the biggest selling PC game of all time by some margin. It's not a success, it's a bloody phenomenon, and each and every expansion pack gets snapped up faster than chocolate drops dangled over the jaws of a slavering canine.

The highly-anticipated Half-Life 2 game will have a major bug with current DirectX 9.0 hardware resulting in impossibility in enabling Full-Scene Anti-Aliasing, a popular feature that dramatically improves image quality in games. Apparently, there is a limitation in DirectX 9.0 and/or DirectX 9.0-compliant hardware that will not allow the function to be enabled on certain graphics cards if the workaround is not found.

We've added some new screenshots on our site, including some of the new LX6 - the quickest car in the S1 release. Being a lightweight car with a powerful engine, the LX6 has great acceleration and quick steering, resulting in having superior laptimes compared with all the other cars available. We must point out that although we originally said that a more powerful rwd car would be included, at that time we weren't exactly sure which kind of car it would be. When we had decided on the LX6, we changed that text to "a quicker rwd car", because in fact the LX6 has less absolute power than the turbo car, but is faster in all situations on the the track.

Xbox.com has news about some upcoming maps for the Xbox port of SoF2 that will be made available over the Xbox Live service beginning on the 21st of this month and continuing over the next few months.

Hot on the heels of the Docks clip comes the third E3 demonstration movie for Half-Life 2, the upcoming first-person shooter sequel by Valve Software. This super-high resolution clip features a minute and a half of gameplay footage set in Kleiner's Lab, demonstrating the interaction with the Alyx and Dr. Kleiner characters and a glimpse of combat. Valve has released the second in a series of movies from the E3 2003 Half-Life 2 presentation via Steam! This shows the Docks scene in fullscreen, high-quality Bink formatted Half-Life 2 joy and you can see how powerful the Source engine really is. A new official patch for Vietcong is available. This release fixes yet more game crashes, improves networking, addresses the speedhack cheat, adds gameplay enhancements and a few new console commands, and fixes some other bugs.
