Electronic Arts sends along the SDK for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Spearhead, the World War II first-person shooter expansion by EA Los Angeles. EA and Maxis have prepared the first patch for the recently released SimCity 4. The patch is applied by a rather unique Active X plug-in installer. Haven't seen such a 'patch routine' before. Most importantly this patch adds (enhanced) support for ATI R300 based graphics cards. Unreal 2 is a first-person shooter just like it's predecessor, and highly touted by many to have the best 3D graphics engine available on the PC, and we can certainly agree with that after having played through the game. Q: Can you tell me more about your current job (Raven Software, Quake 4 project)?

A: I'm a high res modeler/artist on the Quake 4 team with the focus on modeling characters/creatures. I also model anything else needed for the project (e.g. player weapons, map objects, etc.). And as a modeler and artist, I get the opportunity to add to the overall design of the characters that I work on.

3dgamers.com: reports that after a beta demo last month, Papyrus and Sierra have now released the official demo for NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, again allowing you to take this imminent racing simulation sequel for a spin. As before, the demo offers the Michigan International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway tracks in testing session and single-race modes.

The failed 1993 U.S. military mission in Mogadishu, Somalia, lasted less than a day, but the conflict cost the lives of 18 U.S. soldiers, injured 84 more and killed hundreds of Somalis (soldiers and civilians). The operation-as part of the larger relief effort to reopen food lines to the region-was intended to capture key Somalian military leaders as prisoners and quickly hustle them out of the city. Within minutes of the mission's start, however, two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down in an ambush, crashing into the streets of Mogadishu. What began as a get-in, get-out surgical strike quickly turned into an every-man-for-himself fight for survival amid flying bullets and rocket-fired grenades, but also to recover the bodies of their fallen comrades.

It seems that latest released patch 1.3 for Battlefield 1942 has a built in wall hack! There is a command that you can type in console that allows you to see where friendly and enemy players are on your screen, even if they're behind a building, wall, hill, etc. Thanks to MSFN.org.
