New World Order Retail Patches v1.3
The Digital Resource.com reports that Termite Games and Project Three Interactive have released new patches for New World Order, bringing the European edition of this team-based multiplayer shooter to version 1.3. This release adds texture and geometry compression, rendering and framerate speedups, networking improvements, and a couple of bug fixes.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Preview
Gamespy has posted the first up-to-date preview of Condition Zero, a single-player enabled version of Counter-Strike that was recently handed over from Gearbox Software to Ritual Entertainment for final development. Condition Zero still uses the rather old Half-Life engine, but according to Gamespy massive tweaks still get yourself a good visible treatment. Here's a snippet: "One mission begins with you aboard a helicopter, along with a team of counter-terrorists. Your CO advises you of the situation: a Columbian drug czar's base of operation has been located in Bogotá, Columbia. However, the cartel was informed of this information leak and has taken four hostages into custody as a defense. You and your team must make your way into their compound, take down the cartel, rescue the hostages, and destroy all production activity." SimCity 4 Preview
Gamespot has posted their first impressions on Maxis' upcoming mayor simulation SimCity 4. We recently had a chance to play the game, and if anything, SimCity 4 seems to be easier to get into than its predecessors. For example, it's very easy to connect cities in a region and figure out how cities are working together. In a fresh new region, you'll start off with the option to terraform any of the city areas in the god mode, then you'll likely start building up one city in the mayor mode. Once that city is humming along, start on one or two more nearby and zone these cities to specialize them in an area your main city is lacking, such as industry or residential population. The preview
