Activision sends along new patches for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, bringing the WWII FPS by Gray Matter and Nerve Software to version 1.4. You can upgrade from the previous v1.33 or from any older version, and this release adds improved weapon prediction, multiplayer browser enhancements, some new server options, more mod-download options, a new team-based max lives feature, a handful of bug fixes, and more. Linux patches for the GOTY edition and the original game are also available.

This is a one-on-one deathmatch server mod for America's Army. Objectives can not be cleared and players can choose when to start a new round and what weapon they want to fight with.

Epic Games has released a collection of source files for the recent version 2136 of Unreal Tournament 2003, their multiplayer first-person shooter. The zip file contains all of the .UC source files + debug .U packages for the official 2136 patch, as well as an updated version of the UDebugger.

Activision has released a new movie trailer of Star Trek Starfleet Command III, showing the 3D tactical starship combat sequel by Taldren in motion. The movie runs for a minute illustrating the game's features with plenty of in-game footage.

I just discovered a huge security risk in the advanced administration system in UT2003. I've sent a report to Epic, but until this is patched, I advise ALL admins who are using the advanced admin system (XAdmin) to immediately remove it and revert to the default access control.

Well some individual has posted 2 screenshots of some supposed Unreal II installation routine as well as two ingame shots. I am rather skeptical about them. First of all the full game title is Unreal II: The Awakening and I guess that's what would be displayed in the installer, wouldn't it? Then the picture in the installer itself is definitely ripped from the Unreal II website. Take it for what it's worth... Probably fake anyway.

Although looked upon now, through the perspective of the new generation, with all it's Serious Sam's and Counter-strikes, Doom might look as a ran down joke that fits on three floppies, the great replayability and the crazy, unmatched feeling remains. id Software constantly drove the gaming industry insane with their releases and it appears they're not planning on stopping anytime soon because we all know the third part of the historical Doom is coming out.

Gamespot has reviewed Ensemble Studios/Microsoft Games recently released 3D realtime strategy game Age of Mythology. Earning a nearly perfect score of 9.2 out of ten Gamespot says it is a highly polished 3D version of AOEII in a fantasy setting. At its core, Age of Mythology does play a lot like Age of Empires II, as well as other real-time strategy games. A typical match will still require you to spend considerable amounts of time and attention on gathering various resources and building up your civilization, then on producing vast armies, researching numerous technologies and upgrades, and commanding your forces in large battles.
