Doom III Preview

Published by Newsfactory 0

IEBeta has posted a snack up preview of Doom III. Wonder where that suddenly came from. Anyhow it's Sunday and still some hours to fill...

Every time you start thinking about old games, the good old days come in mind, you know, those times when you kept most of the games on your hard-drive for MORE than three days. For example, I played X-Wing for more than one year, I completely ruined myself because of playing Doom 2, as for the original Doom... well, let's just say I kinda sold my soul to the Devil to raise the money to buy a 2 meg SIMM back in '93 in order to play... and I DID! Although looked upon now, through the perspective of the new generation, with all it's Serious Sam's and Counter-strikes, Doom might look as a ran down joke that fits on three floppies, the great replayability and the crazy, unmatched feeling remains. id Software constantly drove the gaming industry insane with their releases and it appears they're not planning on stopping anytime soon because we all know the third part of the historical Doom is coming out.

Age Of Mythology Review

Published by [PM] 0

Gamespot has reviewed Ensemble Studios/Microsoft Games recently released 3D realtime strategy game Age of Mythology. Earning a nearly perfect score of 9.2 out of ten Gamespot says it is a highly polished 3D version of AOEII in a fantasy setting. At its core, Age of Mythology does play a lot like Age of Empires II, as well as other real-time strategy games. A typical match will still require you to spend considerable amounts of time and attention on gathering various resources and building up your civilization, then on producing vast armies, researching numerous technologies and upgrades, and commanding your forces in large battles.
