HL2 Lost Coast HDR Performance: Crossfire vs SLI
We have updated our HL2 Lost Coast high dynamic range lighting benchmarks with the addition of single X850XT PE and 7800GT benchmarks in addition to the Crossfire and SLI 16X tests. We were able to confirm that there is a performance issue with Crossfire as the single X850 outperformed two in all but one test.

It seems there is no direct way to make a Quake 4 demo file run again and again itself automatically with the timedemo command... and since there are not much "heavy" OpenGL games suitable for stability testing we have to think of some kind of a workaround. We've prepared a simple batch (.bat) file that can turn Quake 4 into a great PC hardware stress test.

Quake 4 benchmarks with X850XT and Crossfire X850XTs
Here are the results from single Radeon X850XT videocard and dual X850 cards in Crossfire configuration on a system with Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice E3) CPU and 2x 512MB Kingston DDR400 memory on a Crossfire-ready motherboard. All the components were running at stock settings (nothing overclocked). The driver is Catalyst 5.10 on Windows XP Pro SP2.
