These drivers are WHQL certified and users and some other websites are reporting that this driver is the newest offical reference driver from nVidia which is not yet posted on their website.

As VIAArena has restructured their drivers page it might not be as obvious as before that there are some special drivers released like the IDE ones. Anyway, here is a short description: The VIA IDE Filter Driver is supported under Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP. It is not supported under Windows NT. The filter driver cannot access I/O directly which means that it cannot handle some issues with certain devices. This is a limitation of a filter driver type. Designing a driver to work like a filter requires a few differences for different operating systems. There are therefore two kinds of IDE filter drivers developed by VIA. The VxD driver works for Win9X and WinME. This driver is included in those operating systems. The IDE mini driver is included in Win2000. In addition, VIA provides the IDE Bus Master Filter Driver.
