We have noticed that some people still prefer to use the old ATI Control Panel over the Catalyst Control Center. As a result I have decided to incorporate the Control Panel into the newly released Catalyst 6.5s.

Catalyst® 6.5 introduces a new option for Overlay Theater Mode. The new option, Standard Dual Mode is available for Radeon® X1x00 series of graphics cards. This new feature now allows users to playback video using hardware acceleration when it is played on both displays (clone mode). Hardware acceleration decreases CPU utilization, allowing the PC to run smoother and faster. When using two displays in clone mode, video playback will be identically displayed on both display devices. For Radeon® X1000 series products (Avivo Video) overlay is per-display and true overlay will be used for both displays. For pre-Radeon® X1x00 boards, there is only one hardware overlay, so video on the second clone display device is either software-rendered (i.e. "Same on all" selection) or the Windows desktop is displayed but the video will not show through the color key (i.e., "Standard mode" selection).

NVIDIA released the following beta drivers for Windows Vista Beta 2. The current ForceWare driver is a beta release that will enable you to test the basic features and capabilities of the new operating system.

Realtek released version 3.88 driver for their ALC AC97 audio chipsets. The driver supports all ALC series audio chipsets from ALC100 up to ALC850 mainly used as onboard sound on various motherboards.

Here?s a new set of ForceWare for Windows 2000/XP/MCE/2003. We found it in Pine?s (XFX) FTP; it looks like an updated version of 84.56. This set adds support for GeForce 7800 Ultra and GeForce 7800SE/XT/LE/LT/ZT series. The WHQL information and INF date are the same like 84.56 but the files in the archive seems to be newer by a single day. This set also includes support for all GeForce cards.

The AMD Processor Driver 1.3.1 - Allows the system to automatically adjust the CPU speed, voltage and power combination that match the instantaneous user performance need. Download this Setup Installation program (EXE) to automatically update all the files necessary for installation.

Our bro's over at Station-Drivers send word that they've snagged a set of ATi Catalyst 6.5 (8.253) Beta drivers for Windows 2000/XP (32/64bits) and Windows Media Center! Dated 08/05/2006

It's driver galore this week. This is NVIDIA ForceWare 87.08 & 87.25 and this my friends is a again BETA drivers. It currently is being distributed with the Quad SLI systems on sale. This driver only supported the upcoming GX2 graphics cards in original form, yet we added a modified .inf file into the archive to make the most GeForce cards compatible with this driver.

Our bro's over at Station-Drivers send word that they've snagged a new set of Nvidia ForceWare Drivers 84.66 for Windows 2000/XP! Which they are uploading to their ftp and should be online in an hour or So!

LoD14 our friend from win-news.de gave us these drivers to have a play with. These have the MCE extensions build in as well.Also come with a handy installer (first time I've seen this with Vista)
