Thanks to Neobond @ Neowin.net: Thats right folks we got our hands on a few screen shots and the download of what looks to be an interesting P2P application from Microsoft. We're not sure how old this version is or much about it so it could be very different when it gets released in beta form. Read more for extended information collected by Warp2Search.

Microsoft wants to offer an individual Peer-to-Peer-Client under the name '3°', for the exchange of data between internet users. The software and the appropriate network should at first allow it, to exchange playlists with background music for Messenger-Chats within groups of up to 10 members. The so called Musicmix function allows putting together playlists with 60 entries at maximum. Each user can add to add own titles, that must come from bought CDs with a corresponding protection, however. Digitally Rights management and Windows' media audio are necessary prerequisites here. The access to the files of different users will only be possible when the owner of a song (CD owner) is connected to the 3° P2P network. Related link: www.threedegrees.com
