Just got word from Patrick that a new build of Winamp3 has been released! This seems to be the next public beta although it still says "internal" and a changelog is not supplied. First impressions... Each of your CDROMs is now listed in the playlist and the media info editor has been greatly updated.
The Installer was also updated. You can now pick which components & extras (config. registry, example maki script) get installed and which filetypes (video and audio) Winamp associates itself with. *Finally changed Studio.exe to Winamp3.exe
*Direct Sound can now be configured under preferences->audio ->directsound (used to be under just preferences->audio). Adds ability to change output device, buffer size, prebuffer size, Create primary buffer (fixes sound quality with old cards) and Allow hardware mixing (may cause 'skipping')
*Visualizations can now be configed! (refreshrate change is all so far)
*Preferences->Display has been updated with Monitor Aspect Ratio (4:3, widescreen [16:9], other) & Play Item Title Layout
*Preferences->Media has been updated with Auto Import Meta Data (auto add played media to Media Library)
*Preferences->Video has been updated with Disable screensaver when playing video in Fullscreen mode & Vertically flip all video content
*There is now a Learn button in the EQ to the left of the balance and crossfade sliders. I wonder what it does ...?
Other than that, I think it seems to run faster (a result of tightened code perhaps?) Download Winamp3 Build 490
