Users Can Tweak Voltage - Fan Speed In New Power Supply

Antec has released a power supply that offers adjustable voltage control for overclocking, while allowing the user to adjust the fan speed threshold for quiet computing. Antec began manufacturing its TrueControl 550 a few weeks ago, according to company executives. The 550-watt power supply can also be purchased from Antec's online store for just under $160. Overclockers tend to tweak the power supplies themselves, opening up the PC chassis and playing with the regulator itself, Liu said. These controls are now accessible via a front panel with analog knobs covering the 3.3-volt, 5-volt, and 12-volt supply voltages. The supply does not offer digital control over the supply voltages, however; adjustments are made using the control knobs.
