Unreal Tournament 2004 32 bit vs 64 bit Benchmarks

AMDZone have thrown up a new article which looks a 32-bit vs 64-bit OS Performance using Unreal Tournament 2004!

For this test I am going to be using the UT2004 demo, Windows XP 32 bit, Mandrake Linux 32 bit, and Mandrake Linux 64 bit. The reason for using the demo is that the full version does not yet have a 64 bit executable. Epic has committed to a 64 bit version of the game so they should have a patch available in the future.

For my hardware I am using an Asus SK8N motherboard with an Opteron 246. I have 2 gigs of PC3200 Legacy Electronics memory, a GeForceFX 5700 Ultra, and a GeForceFX 5950 Ultra. The Linux kernel I am going to use is the default Mandrake 9.2 2.4.22-10mdk.

All three ut2004 demo's are available from the Unreal site linked here. The resolutions I will be running are 1600x1200, 1024x768, and 640x480. In the 64 bit Linux demo the 640x480 resolution is replaced by 800x500. Why? I have no Idea, but do not take my word for it.
