Mr. Bergman is responsible for the overall management of ATI's marketing function as well as the Company's desktop products business worldwide. In managing ATI's desktop products business, he will be responsible for the overall management of the Company's industry-leading RADEON family of desktop graphics processor products, including business operations, engineering and marketing. In managing ATI's marketing function, he will be responsible for the overall management of the ATI brand in every segment where the Company competes, including directing the development, implementation and maintenance of related strategies through such programs as advertising, the Internet, marketing communications and public relations.
Mr. Bergman joined ATI in January 2001 in his current position from S3 Graphics, a division of SonicBlue Inc., where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Over the last 15 years, he has served in a number of marketing and management roles within the North American high technology industry, including Vice President of Marketing at Exponential Inc. and Marketing Manager at Texas Instrument Inc. He began his career at IBM Corporation as an engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
