TLPD was created to deal with the "path name too long" issue when dealing with path names over 255 characters.Windows is unable to handle path names longer than 255 characters. Because of this, some programs fail to work correctly with and TLPD is used to detect them for you, so you can move or rename them to shorter paths. TLPD is portable and has both 32, and 64-Bit versions included.TLPD scans the directory tree, looking for files and folders with full path name longer than a specified threshold. On startup, you can scan a specific drive or path. Checking no will check all drives, both local and network once you have selected the drive you want to be scanned. TLPD will remember that drive in the future. Finally, you can choose the threshold of the full path length. It is recommended that you use a number less than 255 characters and 200 is the default.TLPD will minimize to the tray when scanning and generate a log file when completed. A full scan of our main hard disk took just under 12 seconds.You can also start TLPD with command-line parameters. The included readme.txt has instructions on doing that.TLPD is an excellent solution for anyone dealing with the 255 character limitations, and the wizard-style interface makes it easy for anyone to use.
